Mauritius'S Textile Exports Continue To Grow In The First Quarter

In the first quarter of 2014, the total foreign trade volume of Mauritius was 57 billion 5 million rupees (about 1 billion 900 million US dollars), down 1.9% from the same period last year.

According to official forecasts, the total foreign trade volume of Mauritius will reach 266 billion rupees (about US $8 billion 867 million) in 2014.

The total volume of exports and imports will reach 91 billion rupees (US $3 billion 33 million) and 175 billion rupees (US $5 billion 833 million) respectively.

< p > from the perspective of export commodity structure, < a href= "//www.sjfzxm.com/news/index_c.asp" > textiles and garments > /a > fish and fish products and sucrose are still the main export commodities of Mauritius.

The three largest export commodities account for 64.7% of their total exports, of which textile exports continue to maintain the status of the largest export commodities, accounting for 32.8% of total exports of goods, while fish and fish products and sucrose account for 19.6% and 12.2% respectively.

In addition, the machinery and pport equipment and the finished products manufactured by raw materials increased rapidly, up 102.8% and 21.6% respectively over the same period last year.

Less than P, Europe is still Mauritius's largest export market, accounting for 55.6% of the country's total exports.

Britain is still its largest exporter, with an export volume of 2 billion 659 million rupees (about 88 million 630 thousand US dollars), accounting for 15.4% of total exports.

The other major exporters are France, the United States, Italy, Madagascar and South Africa.

< p > from the point of view of imports, Asia is still the largest source of imports in Mauritius, with an import volume of 19 billion 507 million rupees (about 650 million US dollars), accounting for 55.8% of total imports.

India, China, France and South Africa are the 4 largest importing countries in Mauritius. Their market share is 26%, 13.9%, 7.9% and 6.5% respectively.

Among the 4 countries mentioned above, Mauritius only increased slightly to China's imports, an increase of 4.7% over the same period last year.
